who are virtuous devotees of Buddhism, how the Buddha, the friend of the
three classes of beings, performed unique, meritorious deeds beginning
from his existence as Sumedha. Therefore, you all who aspire after the
fourfold knowledge of the path, the true Awakening, should study it
carefully with an eye of wisdom, fully confident that you will gain the
fruits of joy and happiness, an end of sorrow, and the three attainments of
human existence, divine existence and Nibbāna.

[The printed translation gave the date as 1399, Myanmar era, but there
must be some mistake here, as 1399 corresponds to 2037 CE, which cannot
be right. It says in the Introduction that the author started the work in 1956
and completed it in 1969. I have therefore dated it at the year of
completion.]
